Die before death and discover that there is no death.

Sultan Bahu was a 17th-century Sufi mystic in the Punjab region, writing and teaching under Mughal rule at a time when spiritual life was politically dangerous and institutional religion had grown rigid and transactional. He was speaking to people who were afraid — afraid of loss, afraid of punishment, afraid of disappearing. This line is not a comfort; it is a direct challenge to face the thing you are most avoiding. Courage, in his framework, is not pushing through fear — it is dismantling the self that fears in the first place.

Reflection

Many people avoid a specific decision because they are afraid of losing something. What exactly would you lose, and is that loss as permanent as you believe?
