Work With Today
Whatever the present moment contains, accept it as if you had chosen it. Always work with it, not against it.
Tolle wrote this after his own life fell apart before it came together, a period of crisis in his twenties that led to the awakening he later built his teaching around. He was not a man who had avoided hardship but one who had been undone by it and found a different way to stand afterward. The line points away from wishing things were different and toward working with what is actually in front of you. Change rarely announces itself conveniently, so the practical question becomes what you do with the moment you are actually in.
Reflection
Resisting a change already underway wastes energy that could go toward meeting it. What is one change I can work with today instead of resisting?
